Great Show in Coimbra, last Friday. Thanks to all our friends / rock'n'roll
lovers that went to Le Son - all the 20 of you. We had a lot of fun, as usual.
Next month we'll return to the North of Portugal, this time to play in Porto
and possibly Braga. We'll let you know then...
+ Ladies and gentleman, we got ourselves a brand new site, yes we did...
and it's filled with fancy stuff.
Give it a try and surf trough the crime scene... The band done some wrong,
necro is the theme...
The new album is delayed, but we plan on havin' it out by March, hopefully.
It already has a name: NECRO - that's right... cold fucks for everyone.
The Act-Ups are going to play in Coimbra, next weekend. It'll be on Friday,
14th at Le Son.
We are probably going to play in Spain in March, we'll tell you more as soon as possible.
Almost
forgot: new member on the band - give it up for Mikey-Board Cliché,
on the keyboards.
Thank you very much!

October 1st
Hey!
101 days since our last update, heheheh. My computer's burned.
The Act-Ups have been on vacations, then sick, and now we're back on track.
We're going to start playing next month, after we rehearse some new songs.
Next album is being recorded. It would be nice if we could release it this
year... let's see about that.
The Show in Évora was awsome, really nice. People know how to party
down there. Hope we go there soon.
We played at Barreiro in August. It was a party organized by Hey, Pachuco!
so, of course it was wild.
See ya next week (if nothing weird happens...)
+
June 22nd
Hey!
20 days since our last update. Many things happened:
1 - Our rehearsal place felt down. That's right - Fell apart. Unfortunately
there were no politicians from our city hall in it.
2 – The new record’s record sessions are not happening, of course...
Ok, maybe not so many things happened... but who’s counting them anyway?
The Act-Ups are going to start playing again in July. That’ll be in
the 17th, a Saturday, in Évora. We’ll tell you more about it
later.
NEW - Added some photos from Spain.
+ June 2nd II
Here are some reviews from the Spanish shows, taken from IPUNKROCK:
MADRID
CORUÑA
LEÓN
As for our videoclip... after all it wasn't ready, the one from "Miracle"...
but it will be on the next week, i hope.
Since we can't stand still, we're already shooting two more videos, this time
with the precious help of two friends, Rui and Tânia. Rui is directing
"I bet you love me too" and Tânia's directing "Shining
Black Bitch Boots". We're going to invade your television pretty soon...
just wait and see.
In June the Act-Ups are going to record another album. Yes, we can't stop
making songs... What about live shows? - you might ask... Only in July, babes.
+ June 2nd
Sorry for the delay, but we're still overwhelmed by the Spanish mini-tour.
Let me tell you how it was:
Thursday, May 20th:
We headed to Madrid and once we've arrived we crashed the van! Way to go!
Just a little dent, no bugger, rock'n'roll, let's go...
We met up with the twins from Los Chicos, Antonio and Gerardo, plus Maria,
a sweet amor. They we're the coolest and loveliest persons in Spain!
Later on we met the Turnomatics, a great rock'n'roll band from Madrid, who
were going to play before us, that night, at the Juglar. Great people too!
Their guitar player, Raul, was attending last year's Barreiro Rocks fest.
They started their show and it was fuckin' great. Pili, their singer, is a
woman sin verguenza, and the rest of the band is composed by sweet
girls, very nice. They dress up to the show in the most peculiar way, reminded
me of Los Santeros, but with one diference: they knew how to play great Rock'n'Roll!!!
VIVA LOS TURNOMATICS. They have one song that makes you get up in the morning
and dance - it's called: NO LLORARÉ! Buy their record now, please.
Next it was time for us to play. The spanish beer, Mahou, took care of all
of our nerves, so we went very happy on stage. It was an hell of a show -
our best untill now! People in Madrid surely know how to have fun, we thought!
On the last song they undressed Mr. Nicotine!!! For fucks sake! You people
are sick!!!
We talked and drinked a lot, got on the van and headed straight to Raul's
and Pili's home, near Madrid. We slept.
Friday,
May 21st:
We woke up very tired thinking that we had to do another 600km trip again.
We were going to play in Coruña later on. So, let's go! We caught plenty
of sun and tropical rain on the way and arrived at Coruña by the time
of the concert. We only had time to make the sound check and eat something
quick before they called us on stage. Before we could do this we finally met
Pablo Electrocute, a great internet friend. Unfortunatelly i didn't catch
the Black Juju's show - only caught the last two songs. They sounded very
nice, very 70's rock.
We went on stage.
The show was hot. We thought there couldn't be a greater show than the one
at Madrid... but we were wrong! The people in Coruña are crazier than
the ones in Madrid!!! The place was full and as soon as we started playing
people were doing crowd surfing!!! I haven't seen that since Seattle!!!
Now i can say, for sure: this was our best show and there ain't gonna happen
no other show better than this one! De Puta Madre!!!
The most peculiar thing is that many people knew the songs and were singing
them. Thank you Lord for the internet!!!
After the show we went to a bar called Crapula, a very nice rock'n'roll bar
- the place to go when in Coruña!!!
Saturday,
May 22nd:
Back 300km, to León. We arrived at the C.C.A.N. around 8.00pm, i think.
We made our sound check, after meeting with Edu, the guy who was arranging
the show. What a nice guy! Five minutes before the show the place was empty.
By the time we started playing, you couldn't breathe!!! I mean, really!!!
It was really the best show ever!!! It looked like everyone was on speed or
something!!! The last two songs we're played with as many people from the
audience on stage as people from the band... CHAOS!!!
THE ACT-UPS LOVE SPAIN!!!
After the show it was time for me and Fetiche to pinchar some discos
(play some records) at a very nice bar called MONGOGO! This bar was great.
If you don't believe me just read the concept of the bar: MEXICAN FOOD &
ROCK'n'ROLL!!! What else can you wish? I mean... that chilli was the most...
i can't describe it... Just go there and taste it....
Later on we went to another bar, and than another bar, Mamma Iola broke her
backs, Intense went on a lonely walk, my camera died and i woke up in Edu's
house with no memory of ever getting there... wish i was still there...
If you have a band: go play in Spain!!! NOW!
LOVE TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT WENT TO THE SHOWS.
+
May 17th
Hey, Hey, Hey!!! What a great show last saturday at Wild Box fest!
We had a lotta fun and so did the people who were attending the gig (or so
we think...)
The Act-Ups are going to play in Spain this weekend. We could never say no
to Letizia, catch my drift? More info @ Live section. Hope to see all our
friends there: Bananas, Rock-a-Hulas, Mr. Cochambre, Los Chicos, Ruty and
Lascivos, Turnomatics, Pablo Electrocute... all the people who supported us
there. Next monday we'll let you know how was it...
The Act-Ups' video (Miracle) is ready. See it on television in a week or so.
+ May 4th 2004 II
Los Chicos won't play with us in Coruña. Black Jujus is the
band who will share the stage with us.
+ May 4th 2004
Some news to all the fans out there:
First things first: as some of you already know or noticed, Mr. Gomez (WMFL)
doesn't play in the Act-Ups no more. Professional matters drove him to this
situation. We wish only the best to him and we're sure we're going to meet
a few times further down the road.
Next comes another concerto by the Act-Ups. It'll be next saturday,
after dinner, at Espaço Chapelaria in Barreiro. It's such a little
place that we can only bet it's going to be chaotic, and that's a good thing
for the band... Free entrance.
+ April 25th 2004
Nice show, yesterday, in Cascais.
+
April 23rd 2004

March 28th 2004
Last Friday, great concert at Lotus Bar. I was mistreated, though.
For those who don't know, that bar is in Cascais, and Cascais is, let's say,
a town with plenty of rich people... Some lady in a BMW ignored me so badly
i started thinking if i was really there. We were only lookin' for directions...
although the car was worth a couple of years in jail... Well, she didn't appeared
at the concert! Bad luck for her. Our friends Dead Combo played good too.
We had some beers, lots of fun and some more beers.
New dates added. The Act-Ups are going to invade Oporto. That's going to be
on April's 17th and 18th. More info on Live section.
The video for Miracle is being edited. A pain in the ass, i might say, but
it's turning out to be pretty nice - In a television near you in a few weeks.
+
March 16th 2004
Last Saturday the Act-Ups played in Seixal. Great concert. Photos
to come a.s.a.p.
The concert on Barreiro, next friday, was postponed. None of us got sick.
The band has just recorded the videoclip for "Miracle". It's time
for editing, now...
+

December 2nd 2003:
Brief words from our Shepard, Father Nick Nicotine IV:
Hail, Brothas and Sistas of The Holy Church of Soulful Rock'n'Roll!!!
A brand new chapter of our beloved church opened today and, oh yes, the Lord
moves in mysterious ways! Our Sacred Lord of Soulful Punk, the almighty King
of us all, must be proud indeed, for the computer is a mean towards an end,
an end of redemption and realization of our lives!
The Act-Ups are going to be our preachers throughout this journey of salvation
and purification of your decadent souls.
To start our church activities, they’ve released an album filled with
hymns showing you the way to hell. Listen carefully brothas and sistas, for
in that record you’ll find everything you CAN’T DO, examples of
bad manners, sin and decay.
The record will be on sale in all the chapters of our churches. You can find
more info on it here.
Having said that, I hope you visit us as many times as we’re going to
visit you.
I BET YOU LOVE US TOO.
May thy computer be thy church, and thy money be our money.
Father Nick Nicotine III.
